It was interesting, anyway!

Okay so I had to make a snack for Evan’s class today…I made two dozen totally delicious smelling chocolate fudge cupcakes.? I think I should have left well enough alone, but no, I wanted to use my new Wilton bismark tip and decided to make this version of “Twinkie Filling“.? The filling itself was delicious…but putting it in a pastry bag and using it was another story all together…three broken bags and several hand washings later, I was finally done getting the filling in the middle–what a pain in the behind!? Topped off the cupcakes with milk chocolate frosting and some ice blue large grain sugar crystals (“Those look like ice, Mom, cool!”) and they were at last good to go.? I’m thinking that a vinyl pastry bag might work better with that tip in the future, instead of the disposable kind.? I didn’t even take pictures of them like I might normally would, so annoyed was I by the end of the whole thing.? We have another shot at snack day next month, just in time for Valentine’s day…the picture forcast is looking better for that one.

I had started to work on the gallery at Too Faboo, but was too slow for Andrea’s taste (Speedy Gonzalez there just couldn’t wait!) and she ended up commandeering it from me.? That’s okay, I haven’t worked with a CSS style sheet in almost two years, I am a tad bit slow getting back into the game…it’s fun and interesting though, and I enjoyed what little I did get done on it.? Andrea did a really nice job on it, and I love the way it looks.? Feel free to create your own album there and show us all the good stuff you’re working on!

On the agenda for today is housecleaning and making home made pizza for dinner.? Carl heads back to college tomorrow and this is his request for his last dinner at home for six weeks.:)? It’s been nice having him home, but it’s nice (and time!) for him to be going back to school too.? We are too much alike in some aspects, he and I, and it can make things stressful (to say the least) when he’s here for too long a time period.

What’s shakin’ where you are? Anyone have cabin fever yet? We’ve been unindated with snow this year!? In fact we have so much snow it reminds me of the winters we used to have in the 70′s and early 80′s here…cold and snowy with 7 foot snowbanks!? Oh the forts and snow sculptures we used to create, we would be outside for hours.

Until next time,

S.
