His Hundred Dollar Smile
Evan loves money.? He finds it fascinating, and collects coins and bills.? He can name the presidents on all the bills, and this summer, his obsession was getting a $100 bill.? I told him it was a lot of hard work getting a hundred dollar bill, and that it could be very hard to save for one.? Hundred dollar bills aren’t something people have lots of, all the time!?
He insisted he was going to get one, and began to save his money.? He’s paid $3 per week in allowance (although he earns it, he has a list of chores he has to do daily, and he has to help me out in general when I ask) and he’s saved it every week this summer (he’s only spent $10 total on things he wanted, mostly with the icecream man).? He saved his birthday money, and he saved the money he earned selling veggies from Grandpa’s garden over at the candy store with Pierce.?? Finally he had enough to get a $100 dollar bill.? So off we traipsed to the Credit Union, to trade in all his smaller bills for a Benjamin.
Below is a layout I made of this shining moment…I adore his smile in this picture, I have never seen such genuine joy.? The layout was created using?Money $marts Elements by Anna Aspnes of Designer Digitals.? I don’t know how ‘good’ this layout is, but I was so happy with it and the fact that I did something nice with this picture that I actually posted it in their gallery for everyone to see.
There have been so many wonderful things to scrap this summer…I hope to have most of them finished this fall, although it always makes for a fun winter afternoon, scrapping the events of sunny days gone by.
