Fun With Kids: Make Your Own Gummi Candies
We love gummi candy around our house.? So much so that even Little Man’s supplement vitamins are the gummi kind.? Once upon a time, at a Hobby Lobby in a distant galaxy, I could get gummi mix and cute little molds to make it in.? But that was long ago, and they no longer sell the stuff.?
This is okay though, because I found a really good recipe for home made gummi candies at a wonderful blog called “Not So Idle Hands”.? We had a blast with this recipe.? All you really need is Jello and Knox gelatin.? It’s like uber rubber finger jello.? And it tastes terrific.? We made these gummis in the little dinosaur gummi mold I bought at the aforementioned Hobby Lobby, using berry blue Jello.? Easy enough for a seven year old to do, especially if you pour your goop into a squeeze bottle with a pointed nozzle first.
Little Man and his gummi creations.? Rawr.?
A closer look…and look quick, they won’t last long!
We’re down to oooone leetle dinosaur…these really do taste yummy!
Get the recipe here, and while you’re over there, check out the rest of her blog, it’s pretty cool.? She has some really good crafting ideas and fun things for your kids!
