Classic This Just In

Daily Archives: August 16, 2010

Most of you know that I’m currently having a love affair with my Silhouette cutting machine.

It continues, with this fun idea I came up with the other night.

This project pretty much consumed my free time over the last two days.  I had a blast making it.

I also got to use some cute pumpkin eyelets that I bought ages ago.  That made my day too.

The whole banner is about 6′ long and takes up most of the space side to side in my living room entryway.

Each piece has inked edges.  I used LePlume’s Dark Brown ink on most of it.  I used LePlume’s Mustard for the sunflowers.

The pennant background pieces are made with kraft paper that I gave a corrugated look to with my crimper.

The pumpkins and apples are also crimped, with the pattern going side to side on the pumpkins and top to bottom on the apples.

The Amber Autumn Stack by DCWV is a fabulous stack that supplied the papers for the apples, pumpkins and sunflower centers.

The sunflowers add a bit of 3-D to the whole thing and I think I like those best of all.  I used textured paper from K & Company for the petals portion to give it some contrast to the pumpkins and apples.

The font I used was from Lettering Delights, called “LD Farfetched”.

If you’re interested in Lettering Delights, click on the banner to the right with the lil’ giraffe to receive a really nice freebie package, as well as access to a wonderful selection of fonts, clip art, alphabets and more.

After setting the eyelets in each piece, they were strung about an inch apart on jute.

I have a thing for jute, and raffia too.  And eucalyptus.

Do I sound like an 80′s crafter or what? (Remember cinnamon hearts made with applesauce? I still love those things!)

I will get some better lit pictures another day when our sun comes back.  It ran away to hide today, but I was anxious to share this with my friends, so I took pics anyway.

Thanks for stopping by to see another product of my latest obsession, I hope it inspires you!
