Grilled Meatloaf
In our house we love meatloaf. What I don’t love however, is heating up my kitchen in the sweltering heat of deep summer whenever we crave meatloaf.
This recipe fixes that little problem, and very tastily too.
Grilled Meatloaf
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
1 egg, beaten
1 Cup dried bread crumbs
1/2 C. ketchup
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1 heaping teaspoon Bacon Salt (this ingredient is inexpensive, can be found at many grocery stores and is just fantastic!)
1 heaping teaspoon Roast Beef Seasoning and Rub (This is made by a private label manufacturer…I bought mine at Gustafson’s Smoked Fish.)
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and blend well. Spray a hamburger press with nonstick cooking spray and shape patties to desired thickness, turning them out onto a wax paper lined plate. I made six thick patties, because I didn’t want them to be like hamburgers, but more like slabs of meatloaf, only grilled.
Patties can be hand shaped as well, but be sure to briefly spray both sides with nonstick cooking spray. This keeps the meatloaves from sticking to the tin foil on the grill, and to the grill itself at the end of the cooking process.
Cook the patties on the top shelf of your grill, lined with tin foil, until the centers are no longer pink.
Remove from tinfoil, and place directly on the grill surface to give them some sear marks and extra grilled flavor.
Serve with your choice of side dishes and enjoy.

P.S. Readers in my neck of the woods…if you’d like to try this recipe and need the seasoning, I can spot you some until you can get your own. Gustafson’s is in Brevort on US 2, up across. But you probably knew that.

Love this! Thanks Stacey
LOL! I was trying to picture you grilling a meatLOAF on the BBQ. Thought maybe you just put the meatloaf pan on the grill top and closed the lid for backing. But this is more of a hamburger made up with meatloaf ingredients. LOL!!
OH, I forgot to tell you that I found the Bacon salt at the Commissary, it tastes like ground BacoBits, wonder if you would do that if you can’t find the salt? Hmm…
