Peach Butter (Updated with Photos)
This is a wonderfully sweet, spicy and tangy spread that would taste just incredible on hot, buttered biscuits for breakfast. For lunch. For dinner. Heck for Fourth Meal.
Yes, it’s that good. You definitely want this in your life and in your fridge.
I plan on giving this as part of my Christmas gifts this year, I can’t wait to share it with people.

Peach Butter
Ingredients
4 lbs. ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and chopped
1/3 C. orange juice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 teaspoon Fruit Fresh
1 tsp. butter
3 C. sugar
2 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
Directions
In a large sauce pan or Dutch oven combine peaches, orange juice, butter and Fruit Fresh.
Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat; reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove pan from heat, skim off any foam and pour peaches into a large sieve or food mill; Press.
Return peach pulp to pan and add sugar, spices and lemon juice.
Stir constantly over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
Bring mixture to a simmer, stirring frequently; reduce heat to low and continue to simmer for 30 minutes, to thicken. Remove from heat.
Skim off foam if any, and ladle into hot jars. Water bath process for ten minutes if you choose, or use the boiling jars/boiling lids method. (I use the latter. Water bath processing has burned/overcooked too many of my products.)
Makes 3 half pint jars.
You can leave the spices out of this recipe if you choose, but I think it’s better with them in.

Enjoy,
S.

Oh, that looks so good…I must try it. I love peaches and actually I’m going to the farm market this weekend to get some to make peach crisp…I can’t wait. I’ll have to share that on my blog.
