Classic This Just In

Daily Archives: November 16, 2010

I am not much on girlie things like makeup and jewelry normally.

Well okay, lipstick/lipgloss yes…but foundation, etc. not so much.

Until I was introduced by someone who really loves me to Bare Escentuals.

From the moment I had my color match done, I was in love.

I will now use nothing else.  Because truly, nothing else compares.

Even Toadie is surprised.  He commented as I busily surfed the BE website the other day, “Wow Mom, you must really like that makeup!” And I do.

This is my modest little collection:

I unfortunately suffer from rosacea.  This makes my face inordinately red, and I hate it.  However, thanks to BE’s Bare Minerals foundation and shimmering mineral veil, you can’t tell that I have rosacea.

My face looks healthy and glowing, and I feel beautiful.

I started using this line of makeup two years ago, beginning with the Prime Time face primer, Bare Minerals foundation and shimmering mineral veil.

This year, I added the skin care line, and also purchased the Intro to Eyes kit.

These products may seem expensive, and the initial outlay can seem daunting.  But don’t dispair, the products last a very long time because you need so little.

When I added up what I would spend on drugstore makeup versus BE, it turns out I was spending the same amount–so I bit the bullet (gently!) and opted for BE.

I bit the bullet gently by purchasing the bareMinerals Get Started Kit.  A small investment of $60 gave me enough product to last almost 6 months.

This was enough time to really evaluate the product and see if it met my needs.

Not only did it meet my needs, it exceeded them.  My skin no longer looks red, but I also don’t look like I’ve put makeup on with a trowel either.

I treated myself to three new lip glosses this time around as well, my newest obsession being Cassis, a nearly nude shade with a hint of warmth.  I love it and have worn it every day since I bought it.

This is not a promotional post for this company, by the way.  I’m just sharing with you something that I really love, because it has done wonders for my self confidence and it makes me happy.  Who knows, you might try it and fall in love with it too.
