FOR TODAY… from Stacey’s Daybook
Outside my window… ~19 degrees and partly sunny outside. The sun masks the frigidity of the air.
I am thinking… ~that while I have enjoyed this lazy, and I mean LAZY weekend, over all I do not like laying around not doing much in general.
I am thankful for… ~a warm house. It’s freezing outside but I am nice and toasty.
I am wearing… ~my penguin nightgown. I have been in pajamas all weekend.
I am remembering… ~the super busy-ness of the Christmas season and how glad I am that it’s over, even though I enjoyed it greatly.
I am going… ~to start working on some card projects I have ideas for.
I am currently reading…~I just finished “Prairie Tale” by Melissa Gilbert. What a great book. I am getting ready to start “The Wolves of Andover” today sometime.
I am hoping…~that I can get my boys’ portrait done soon.
On my mind… ~getting my teeth worked on. I do not like dentists as a rule. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on my teeth only to have the work fall apart and further damage done to my mouth. I’m really tired of it, quite honestly. I am in severe pain though, and I need to make an appointment as soon as possible.
Noticing that… ~I am ready for spring already. This is unusual too, as I love winter and don’t mind it hanging around a while.
Pondering these words… “There are no ties stronger than that of family.” This is the truth. Right, wrong, good, bad and everything in between…I have tried and cannot sever these bonds. I don’t think that I want to either. Renegotiating them is the only course.
From the kitchen… ~Gingerbread rice krispie treats with white chocolate; oatmeal toffee cookies; baked chicken with creamy chicken rice last night; cheeseburger bake tonight and a menu I have yet to plan for this week.
Around the house… ~maintaining the clean. Clutterbusting the flat surfaces, as always and loving my new Swiffer Wet Jet™ system. My floors feel so clean under my bare feet and I love that.
One of my favorite things…~the smell of woodsmoke in the air of a winter twilight. Pure magic.
