Goodbye March, Hello Spring!
At last it begins to warm up! Just in time for Little Man’s (and my) Spring Break. March was an odd month here in the north country. We had great warm weather for a few days, then bitterly cold weather others. It’s always a mixed bag here, but it was just more…noticible, I guess.
I’m really looking forward to our break. I am itching to get outside in the yard and rake, and I am going to throw open my windows at the first opportunity. I am about 1/3 of the way done with the last jigsaw puzzle of the winter season, so I’ll be finishing that too.
My creative side is calling too…but I need to find some focus, because there is so much I want to do. I want to do some quilling, some cross stitching, some card making; ideally, I would like to do all three, but I don’t know that it will happen. My aspirations are always great–implementation doesn’t always match up.
April is going to be a fun month. Little Man has baseball drafts on the 16th; we’re going to Saginaw to hit Chuck E. Cheese, stay in a hotel and go swimming next weekend; we’re going to various and sundry movies throughout the month; my birthday is on a Friday (yay!) this year, and Toadie graduates from college with his bachelor’s degree the day after.
I can’t wait for grilling season to start. Technically, we keep a grill outside all year long, but don’t always use it. I have four absolutely gorgeous New York strips in the freezer that are just begging to be tossed on the grill. Soon soon soon! Whip up some garlic herb butter and put a pat on top of a medium well NY strip and you’re good to go!
Oh, and I’m having a Scentsy basket party. This is like a book party, but I have a basket of products that people can look at, and smell all the fabulous scents that they offer. I just got my order from a party I went to a few weeks ago, and my house is smelling *divine*. I am currently using “Jumpin’ Jellybean” in both my living room and dining room warmers. “Mums and Marigolds” is my other favorite scent which I only just recently discovered…I am going to get a big brick of that one. It smells like sunshine and puts a smile on my face.
I’m still plugging along with Weight Watchers, still loving it and hope to continue doing as well as I have. This plan is really something I can do for a lifetime, and I’m thrilled about that! My blood sugar is the best it has been in many years, and I can still eat what I like. That’s a win/win in my book.
What’s everyone else up to for spring?
S.
