On Saturday, Pack 187 (Cheboygan, MI) got their race on and held their annual Pinewood Derby. It was a blast.
Little Man had a car in the race, he and his dad put it together.
The field consisted of a lot of amazing vehicles. The boys did an awesome job with them!
This is Little Man’s entry for 2011:
The track was swift and sleek. Score was kept electronically, with NASCAR scoring.

Holy Cow!! Did I win something?!
Why yes son, you did. He won one of six pack wide awards, for the most colorful car.
He also took third place over all in the Wolf division, with his den mates Ethan and Maxim, who were first and second, respectively.
He was a little bummed out that he didn’t get a medal for third place (he got a Derby Car kit for third), but we told him he did a great job and got an award that nobody else got–Most Colorful. He was happy after that. Why my son couldn’t give me a natural smile is beyond me. He doesn’t like me to take pictures of him much these days, so I take what I can.
Because he placed, Little Man (and his dad and I) are off to the District Derby in two weeks. That is going to be a lot of fun and very exciting!
I’m thinking I might put a car in Open Class racing next year–something in pink perhaps.;)
