The Simple Woman’s Day Book April 10, 2011

Outside my window… ~37 degrees and cloudy.  It has been a relatively cold spring so far.  I don’t like that very much.

I am thinking… ~that we need to get away overnight more often.  We left Saginaw early this morning after an absolutely fantastic day yesterday.

I am thankful for… ~a wonderful home to come home to.  Our house is an old Victorian that needs various updates, but I love it.

I am wearing… ~jeans that are getting to be way too big for me…a brown and tan floral top and my KSwiss tennis shoes.

I am remembering… ~the fun I had shopping yesterday.  We’re starting to get more stores in Gaylord and Petoskey, so I can focus more on things like Barnes and Noble, Target and ToysRUs when I go down state.

I am going… ~to try and work on my bedroom.  I wanted to do it last week during spring break, but it didn’t happen.  Part of the problem is that it hasn’t been warm enough to open the windows…and for some reason, I don’t want to do that room until I can open the windows.

I am currently reading…~Land of the Painted Caves by Jean M. Auel. I am now on page 461.  As I had hoped, she employed a small, 4 year time jump.  Very wise on her part.  The story has picked up tremendously, and I’m glad I stuck with it.  The next book I want to read is “All That is Bitter and Sweet” by Ashley Judd.

I am hoping…~to lose weight again this week.  I lost 1.6 lbs. last week, for a total of 13.6 pounds gone in five weeks.  That made me so happy…it inspired me to stay within my points allowance, even while in Saginaw–I still have a few weekly points left to use plus my activity points!

On my mind… ~getting hired at Family Video.  I applied for a small part time job, I think it would be perfect for me and I for it.  Hope I hear something soon!

Noticing that… ~The days are flying by.  It won’t be long and school will be done for the year, Little Man will be well into baseball season and the days will be long and hot.

Pondering these words… nothing right now.  Got any good quotes to share?

From the kitchen… ~baked BBQ chicken tonight; not sure about the rest of the week.  I know, I know…I’m usually much better organized.  It’s not that I’m not organized, it’s that I am out of ideas.  I’m in a cooking rut and need to bust out the grill!

Around the house… ~Laundry is nearly done.  I have just a load of whites to do, then I can put the remainder away.  I need to sweep and dust tomorrow morning before work.

One of my favorite things…~ the rain on the roof over my bedroom at night.  Or the wind in the eaves of my house.  Both are so soothing.  I try to hang on for as long as I can before falling asleep just to enjoy the sounds.
