FOR TODAY… from Stacey’s Daybook

Outside my window… ~81 degrees and most likely going to get hotter.  Full on summer is definitely here.
I am thinking… ~that it isn’t so bad to go long periods of time without blogging, especially when you’re busy living and having a great time.
I am thankful for… ~quitting smoking.  It has been TWO YEARS today.  I am so proud of myself for not starting again.  I actually have no desire to ever smoke again, and the smell of cigarette smoke makes me want to puke these days.  Never thought I’d be saying that, ever!
I am wearing… ~my pink pajamas.  I will get dressed soon enough.  Time to be a bit lazy.
I am remembering… ~the fantastic day trip that Little Man and I took with my brother and his wife yesterday.  Post with a ton of pictures coming on Tuesday.
I am going… ~to take the kids to the beach today.  Jess, Nate, Evan and I are gonna hit Burt Lake State Park I think.
I am currently reading…~The Gauntlet Thrown by Cheryl Dyson.   It’s a free book I got from BN for my Nook.  I have to say, I am really enjoying it so far.  My Nook was such a great purchase.  I’m so glad I didn’t buy the Nook Color–I love the e-Ink technology that allows me to read outside on my deck, at the beach or where ever I want.
I am hoping…~to figure out why I’ve been sabotaging myself for two weeks in a row with my eating.  Friday and Saturday nights are just killer for me for some reason lately.
On my mind… ~paying down debt.  My brother and I had a really good discussion about how our government wants us to be in debt, because we have less freedom when we’re always working to pay the bills.  Not to mention we pay more in taxes that way.  It really was a “food for thought” conversation.
Noticing that… ~I actually enjoy going to the beach and reading, watching Little Man play and feeling the breeze on my face.
Pondering these words…“Nothing worth having is ever easy.”

From the kitchen… ~Roast beef with Yukon Gold potatoes in the crock pot as I write this post.  I have a rack of ribs in the freezer on deck for this week, along with quick and easy dinners for hot days.

Around the house… ~Laundry done, just need to put it all away.  Dishes done, kitchen clean.  Living room however, gets trashed sooo easily with extra kids in the house.  It’s a daily chore to keep it looking just decent, much less nice.
One of my favorite things…~the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  The beauty in nature there is breath taking, and I could go there often for the peace it imparts.  Can you see why?
