The Simple Woman’s Day Book March 11, 2012

Outside my window… ~44 degrees, sunny and gorgeous!  What a change from last week!

I am thinking… ~that I’m getting excited about this Monday!  The window guy from Home Depot will be here at 5 p.m. to measure the windows upstairs to get us ready for new ones!  Both the boy’s bedrooms, my closet and the downstairs bath room will have new energy efficient windows and screens!

I am thankful for… ~ the house we live in.  I know a house is just a house, but honestly whenever I hear the wind howl outside, or feel it pound against the walls I know we’re snug and cozy and safe and warm in THIS house.  I love that.

I am wearing… ~brown yoga pants and my Minnesota State Fair tee shirt.

I am remembering… ~the fresh scents of spring!  The air is crisp and clean and it’s fantastic.

I am going… ~to make the most adorable Easter handouts with my Cameo cutting machine.  Little chick and bunny treat baggie things…they are just too darn cute.

I am currently reading…~A Game of Thrones, the 4 book series by George R. R. Martin.  Excellent series, I can’t put it down.  It’s a long one though at 3517 pages. Update: I’m on page 2517.

I am hoping…~to get some major cleaning done upstairs, now that I can open the windows and let some fresh air in!

On my mind… ~finding a part time job for the summer.

Noticing that… ~for all the fury of the weather last week, the snow is melting quickly because you can’t stop spring!

Pondering these words…“Ignorance is bliss.”  This is so true.

From the kitchen… ~The menu planning ended up being just a list last week instead of the cute little menus I had wanted to make.  We’re going to give it another shot today, that menu making business.  I’m making an oatmeal cake today, and I’m contemplating the rag soup that I wanted to make last week but never did.
