Pinterest strikes again, my dear friends!
Another recipe found, another recipe made.
This time around it’s for White Chocolate Walnut Blondies, and man are these ever wonderful!
Quick and easy to make, these moist, delicious butterscotch bars are big on brown sugar flavor. I did adapt this recipe slightly as I didn’t want to chop up white chocolate, so I used some high quality chips instead.
The pin on Pinterest led to me to this blog and the recipe, with step by step photos.
I’m reposting the recipe here, along with pics of my finished product.
Blondies adapted from(My Story in Recipes)
1 cup walnuts
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 Tablespoons butter, melted
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
6 ounces good quality white chocolate, chopped OR 6 oz. white chocolate chips (I used Ghirardelli White)
Spread nuts on a baking sheet and toast in a 350 oven for 10 minutes. Chop.
Fit a 9×13″ pan with foil and spray with cooking spray. Trim 1 sheet of foil to the length of the pan and another to the width of the pan. Allow the excess to hang over the edges.
Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.
Whisk melted butter and brown sugar until combined.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Fold in dry ingredients.
Fold in nuts and white chocolate.
Smooth the top with an offset spatula.
Bake 22-25 minutes. I baked mine for 26 minutes in a gas oven.
Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then using foil, lift blondies from the pan and finish cooling on a wire rack.
Cut into 2″ squares–makes 30 blondies.
This recipe is a keeper, and you’ll definitely want to add it to your line up of quick and easy things to bake. I hope your family enjoys it as much as mine does!
