Crafting
I dabble in lots of crafty stuff. It’s always interesting, come take a peek.
I don’t know if I’m so much a digital scrapbooker as I am a graphics collector and hybrid creator. I love to collect graphics in general, they give me so much pleasure in looking at them. Occasionally I actually create something with them too, haha!
Yesterday I picked up a small accordion folder and a little notebook for my new budgeting system and I wanted to personalize it for me, because in my world even the mundane has to be pretty. Preferably with a dash (at the minimum!) of pink. Well, there sat my stash of digi scrap kits and art journaling supplies and I decided to have some fun that would be fast. I’ve mentioned before that finding time to do anything creative has been nearly impossible and so I was looking to make some thing cute and quick.
I picked up this kit at Shabby Miss Jenn Designs a while ago:
I decided it would be the perfect kit to make my plain Jane folder super cute. So I made an adorable label, printed it out on plain printer paper and turned it into a sticker with my Xyron Creation Station.
Is that not the most darling thing?! It went together easy peasy in CS6–I think it took about 20 minutes from start to finish. I’m thinking I will cover the little notebook with a matching cover printed on card stock sometime this week.
I also made a super cool door hanger that I just loooove and can’t wait to use. Maybe I will find the time I seek if I do! I got the template for this little beauty by Wendy Bird Designs here. I didn’t exactly do the challenge yet because I didn’t use Scrap Orchard products, but I loved the idea of a door hanger for my own purposes. (I will be making another one of these for my bedroom door that will be for when I’m watching movies and that will use a fabulous SO product.) What I did use was a retired kit from Tangie Baxter called The Greatest Curiosity and an alpha from Traci Reed called Fuzzy Wittle Alpha, along with a font called Pea Goldilocks. I am so tickled with the way it turned out, now I just have to laminate it and I’ll be all set.
Another fun thing I found today is a tutorial for making a forum siggie using a 12 x 12 page template at Little Green Frog Designs. What an absolutely brilliant idea! I would have never thought of this myself, and I positively suck at clustering…so this is a wonderful way to go for those of us who have siggie building issues! Can’t wait to take a few minutes and play with this idea!
