Gettin’ My Craft On…A Wall Hanging for a Friend
I created this adorable wall hanging for one of my BFF’s this week. It was simple and inexpensive to make too–who doesn’t love that?
I picked up the blank plaques at Crafts Direct in St. Cloud, MN while I was there for just $1.00 each.
The green ribbon came from a yard sale I went to in Mora–what an unexpected find to stumble upon–the yard sale of a lady who owned a scrapbook store! I got tons of assorted ribbons for $5, over 120 yards.
The 3D paper flowers came from JoAnn Fabrics, purchased with a 50% off coupon;
The lady bug stickers are some ancient ones from Stickapotumus, and the rain drop stickers were 40% off at JoAnn Fabrics.
I cut the background paper into a 5.5 by 5.5 inch square and used my hole puncher to punch holes that aligned with the holes in the plaque. I used two sided paper, and cut a rectangle from it and flipped it to the other side for contrast, sanding the edges for a bit of a sun faded look.
I cut the letters that spell out “Summer Girl” with my Silhouette–the font I used was Grilled Cheese BTN with a brown cardstock.
The pink ribbon was a sale find at Hobby Lobby, just 50 cents a spool.
All in all this project cost about $2 to make. Cute, economical and a fun way to let someone know you care.
What have you been crafting lately?
