Little Man’s Baseball Season 2011
This is Little Man’s third year of baseball. I still love going to watch him play, it’s so cool to see the growth from year to year, sometimes from game to game. He and his team mates improve their skills and their game more and more and it’s so satisfying to see.
This year Little Man is playing on the Levering Cafe team. The Levering Cafe is awesome. It’s got a huge chicken statue on the front of the building; because of this everybody calls it “The Big Chicken”. The breakfast there is super good, right on par with Alice’s in downtown Cheboygan.
I love the uniforms this year–in years past we’ve had gray pants for the boys. This year, they’re black. Combined with the red of the shirts, our boys look pretty sharp out there on the field.
Saturday was the first day that we’ve had fabulous weather for a game. It was sunny and 70 at 10 in the morning, and everyone was out to see the kids play. I got some good pictures too. I pick up the prints of these at Walgreen’s today, I’m making something special for Little Man’s room with them. I’ll post pics when I have it completed.
I have to say I love uploading my photos to Walgreen’s. They have some cute borders and frames you can choose for your pictures, and Gatorade sponsors a baseball frame that’s just awesome:
This will be perfect for the project I’m putting together, I can’t wait to get started.
Here are a few more pictures of Little Man at bat. They used a pitching machine for this game, and he hits pretty well with it.
I’m sure I’ll have one more post with more pictures this summer about baseball. The Little League season here is almost half over already–they play up until the last Saturday in June.
Take me out to the ball game,
S.
