Hand Made Thank You Cards
I got a really cool gift from my parents for Christmas. It’s the Sizzix Texture Boutique embossing machine system–and I just love playing with it. I got the beginner’s kit you see if you click on the link and about 20 embossing folders. Cuttlebug embossing folders are compatible with this embosser as well, so you have tons of options to choose from.
I also used my Silhouette cutting machine to cut the square and the scalloped ovals and the white oval inserts. Have I mentioned how much I love my Silhouette?
The ribbon came from the Dollar Spot at a Target in St. Cloud, Minnesota. There were six different Christmas/winter themed ribbons, about half a yard each for a buck. I couldn’t pass it up, and I’m glad I found a nice project to use some of it on.
I’m just a beginning card maker, so my designs are simple. I made three of these cards in pretty short order though, thanks to all my toys.
I tried to get close enough so you can see the embossing on the blue square. Overall, I like the way these turned out, with the texture and the glue dots giving the oval a 3D effect.
Not bad for a first try, eh?
What kinds of projects are you working on this month?
